Tru Precision CNC

We are a small family owned CNC machine shop. In 2009 we began to realize how fast our two boys were growing up. We knew that one day they would need to get a job and learn how to make a living. We wanted them to become hard working boys that anyone would want to hire. We started, as little children, teaching them how to use their mind to solve problems in everyday life. We found a 3-axis Bridgeport milling machine that was for sale nearby. We poured a concrete floor in the basement and set up that milling machine. With the two boys being 6 and 8 years old, they started watching and turning handles as they were instructed. Over the next 5 years they learned how to read the dials on the handles, read dial calipers, outside micrometers, inside micrometers, and depth gauges. During this time we found a manual lathe that a local machine shop was selling. We purchased this, set it in place, wired it up, and the boys were all in, for more training. They showed a great interest in machining and learning. They had been well instructed in safety precautions and were showing responsibility. So, they started making small parts on their own with someone nearby watching. They started learning how to cut circles, boxes, angles using an angle vise, and many other unique shapes. In 2017 we purchased an Acer 3 axis knee mill that was CNC controlled. They started programming it in conversational code. They picked this up fast, but there was one problem. The shapes you could machine were time consuming and very limited. We purchased a subscription of Fusion 360, and the only limitations were learning and knowledge. We started by watching videos, and trial and error, thankfully there was a lot of trial and very little error. In the summer of 2019, both of the boys worked at the machine shop that their first lathe came from. Our oldest boy could program all of the CNCs, and the youngest one could run any of the manual machines. We regularly held tolerances of +-0.0005. In 2020 we bought our first CNC Hyundai lathe that was 10” center to center. Both of the boys graduated from a private Christian school at our church. The youngest one went back to work at the same machine shop. He now can run every machine in the shop, but excels in CNC programming and operation. Most of the parts are running in 25% to 50% of the time that they were running in, when he started. We have started our own shop with an obsession for perfection. We are a Christian family that lives according to the Bible, 7 days a week, not just on Sunday morning. We believe in Christian business practices and enjoy manufacturing on American soil in the heart of North Carolina. We deliver the quality that you expect when it says, “Made in the USA.” If you need parts give us a call or send us a message and we are sure you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to doing business with you!
